India has said it will make significant contribution to help global economy grow at a higher rate to maintain growth momentum. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi Thursday morning, Prime Minister's Sherpa for G-20 Summit, Suresh Prabhu said the main economic issue before the summit would be how to get more than two per cent global growth.He said, all the economies have to contribute to attain this growth rate. Mr Prabhu said growth must not mean only rise in economic output but also create more jobs. Mr Prabhu, who has been a Minister in Atal Behari Vajpayee's Cabinet, said G-20 should continue to focus on improving transparency in energy markets, particularly gas and promoting energy efficiency.He said, India will urge the G20 summit to work on steps to reduce costs by half in sending money home from aborad.India being the world's largest recipient of remittances suffers a lot on this count. Last year, it received 71 billion dollars in remittances.The Summit is scheduled to be held on 15th to 16th of this month in Brisbane, Australia.Mr Parbhu said, India will utilize the G-20 forum to push for a strong action on climate change. He said, all negotiations on mitigating adverse impact of climate change must be concluded at the earliest.On taxation, the Prime Minister's Sherpa said, there is a need for automatic sharing of information to avoid tax evasion.
