India will extend all help to Myanmar in setting up democratic institutions for ensuring stability in that country. <br/><br/>President Pranab Mukherjee said the two countries have a good long standing relationship and India is happy to see the process of democratization getting strengthened in that country. <br/><br/>During a meeting meeting with the visiting State Counsellor of Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi at Rashtrapati Bhavan today, <br/><br/>Mr. Mukherjee extended India's support in Myanmar's transition to full democracy. <br/><br/>The President said, India will soon commence work on restoring two old temples and inscriptions of King Mindon and Bay Gyi Daw in Bodh Gaya as requested by the Government of Myanmar. <br/><br/>Ms Suu Kyi reciprocated the President's sentiments and stated that change does not happen easily and Myanmar has to go about the process of transition in a cautious manner. <br/><br/>Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swarj called on the visiting dignitary and conveyed condolences on the loss of lives in the recent terrorist attacks in Rakhine State of Myanmar. <br/><br/> Sources said the two leaders discussed the manner in which India could support Myanmar's agenda of national reconciliation and socio-economic development. <br/><br/>The State Counsellor outlined her priorities in the areas of agriculture, training, capacity building, job creation, infrastructure and health care and sought India's assistance in these areas. <br/><br/>In the morning, the State Counsellor of Myanmar was accorded a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Later talking to media, she said it gave her great pleasure to be back in India and she looks forward to better the relationship and believes that the friendship will stand the test of time and circumstances.
