Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India will cooperate extensively in further consolidation of Sanghai Cooperation Organisation, SCO as an effective regional platform. <br/><br/>In his opening statement at the SCO meeting on prevention and elimination of emergencies at Cholpon-Ata in Kyrgyzstan today, Mr Singh said, India's membership of SCO will take the cooperation to greater heights and it will improve the cooperation in combating emergencies. <br/><br/>He said, India committed to step up the coordinated efforts to counter common challenges and threats and to deepen cooperation in various spheres. The Home Minister informed that India has enhanced its technical capabilities in forecasting and monitoring natural hazard. <br/><br/>He said, India can take pride in the fact that it has aligned the National Disaster Management Plan with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. Mr Singh expressed gratitude to all Member states of the SCO for their support for India's membership.
