Planning Commission Deputy Chairman, Montek Singh Ahluwalia today exuded confidence that the country will clock over 8.5 per cent economic expansion in 2010-11, despite moderation in industrial growth. Ahluwalia said this will be because agricultural growth is likley to be higher than the earlier forecast of 5.4 per cent. Ahluwalia also expressed the hope that industry will record a robust growth of 9 per cent during the current fiscal. On farm sector growth, he said it is not possible to repeat the agricultural growth rate of the last fiscal in 2011-12, because of the base effect.
