India will Chair the International Bio-diversity meet to begin this morning in Hyderabad. About 10 thousand delegates from 193 member-countries are expected to attend the 12-day deliberations. The eleventh meeting of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Convention on Bio-diversity will deliberate upon achieving bio-diversity conservation targets in next ten years. The member- countries will also chalk out further steps in support of the implementation of the Strategic Plan on Bio-diversity for which they agreed under the Convention on Bio-diversity. The Executive Secretary of the convention, Dr Braulio Ferreira de Souza Dias said that mobilization of financial resources for achieving Bio-diversity Targets will be one of the main agenda during deliberations.
