Home Minister P.Chidambaram has said that 2,200 KM road along Indo-Nepal border will be constructed. Under this 564 KM roads along Nepal border areas in Bihar will be constructed. After laying foundation stone of an integrated checkpost at Raxaul in Bihar on Saturday, Mr. Chidambaram said that communication system near border areas will also be strengthened. <br/> <br/>He said the construction of the ultra modern checkpost will help further enhance trade and commerce between India and Nepal. The second checkpost in Bihar will be set up at Jogbani. Other eleven checkpost will be constructed at different places in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Megahalya and Tripura. <br/> <br/>AIR Patna Correspondent reports that this checkpost will also be helpful in keeping strict vigil on smugglers and check movement of Maoists. <br/> <br/>Raxaul checkpost is the second integrated chekpost after Atari which is being constructed along Indo-Pakistan border in Punjab. This Checkpost will be equipped with high tech security gadgets and other instruments to facilitate trade and immigration. <br/> <br/>There would be dedicated passengers and cargo terminal at the the checkpost besides separate customs and immigration facility. There would also be modern financial services like banks and foreign exchange cell at the checkpost. <br/> <br/>
