India to begin campaign in main draw of Malaysia Open

Top Indian shuttlers Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth, PV Sindhu, and HS Prannoy will start their campaign in the main draw of the Malaysia Open Super Series Premier badminton, beginning at Shah Alam in Malayasia today. Other shuttlers participating in the tournament are Ajay Jayaram, Manu Attri and B.Sumeeth Reddy, Pranaav Jerry and Akshay Dewalker. In Women's singles, the 26-year-old, Saina will take on Nitchaon Jindapol of Thailand while Sindhu will face China's HE Bingjiao in the opening round . In Men's Singles, Kidambi Srikanth will play Thailand's Boonsak Ponsana against whom he has a 3-1 record.World No. 24 Jayaram will open his campaign against Hong Kong's Hu Yun, while World No. 19 Prannoy will face Japanese third seed Kento Momota. In mixed doubles event, Manu Attri and B.Sumeeth Reddy will clash with Russia's Vladimir Ivanov Ivan Sozonov.However, currently ranked World No.17, Parupalli Kashyap has been forced to withdraw from the competition due to knee injury and may also miss Singapore Open Super Series.
