India thrash South Africa by 87 runs in Durban Test; Level three-match series by 1-1

India recorded a sensational 87-run victory over South Africa in the Second Cricket Test at Durban on Wednesday. On the penultimate day of the match, chasing a target of 303 for a win, the hosts were all out for 215 runs in their second innings. India, who lost the First Test in Centurion, have now levelled the three-match series 1-1. V.V.S. Laxman was named Player of the bowler-dominated match for his aggressive aggregate 136 runs in the two innings, including 96 in the team's second innings. The final scores: India – 205 and 228South Africa – 131 and 215Both the teams now travel to Cape Town, for the third and final Test beginning on Sunday.
