India, Thailand look to strengthen business ties

India and Thailand have invited the captains of Industry to invest in each other's country.Addressing Captains of Industry in New Delhi this morning, the Commerce, Industry and Textiles Minister, Mr. Anand Sharma said that India offers limitless opportunity for bilateral trade and investment.Inviting the Thai Businessmen to invest in the field of electronic hardware and infrastructure sector, Mr. Sharma said that the infrastructure sector in India prefers 1.2 trillion US dollars in few years. Besides that India is the second largest producer of food grains and vegetables. The Minister stressed that Thailand could invest in creating cold chains. Mr. Sharma said that Thailand has invested 900 million US dollars in India whereas India has invested 2.6 billion US dollars. He said that there is a need to expand trade basket and explore new areas of investment. In her turn, Prime Minister of Thailand Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra said that her country would like to enhance maritime link besides other sectors of mutual interest with India.
