India today said that it has taken up the issue of detention of 11 Indian fishermen by Maldivian Navy with Maldives . Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs Syed Akbaruddin said that the Ministry has received the information that there were 11 Indian fishermen who are supposedly detained by Maldivian Navy. He said that Indian High Commission has taken up the matter with the Maldivian authorities and Ministry will try to have a swift and quick resolution to this issue.
