India takes on Australia in WC Hockey Today

Shivendra Singh's three-match ban has been reduced today to two by the appeal's jury headed by International Hockey Federation Vice-President Antonio von Ondarza. The Jury declared that the action by the Indian striker was not deliberate. Shivendra was earlier suspended for three matches after tournament director Ken Read penalised him for deliberately causing physical assault without serious injury to Fareed Ahmed of Pakistan in their opening match of the World Cup. The Indian team management appealed against the ruling and the jury reduced the suspension to two matches. Shivendra will not be able to participate in India's matches against Australia today and Spain on Thursday.
