<span style="color: black;">India has been able to contain the spread of Covid-19 having the lowest per million cases and per million deaths as compared to other affected countries.<br />'' <br />''In India, per million cases is 3320 while death is 55 per million population.<br />'' <br />''Making a statement in Rajya Sabha today on the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps taken by the Government, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsha Vardhan said, India has taken several measures to contain the spread of this virus.<br />'' <br />''Giving the details of the preparedness in terms of tackling this virus, he said, the recovery rate is above 78 per cent in the country.<br />'' <br />''He said, 30 vaccine candidates are in  different stages of the development in India and three are in advance stages of phase I, II and III clinical trials. He said, India is conducting more than 10 lakh test per day and so far five crore tests have been done.<br />'' <br />''Dr. Harshvardhan said, effective containment strategies, contact tracing, and community surveillance mechanisms were adopted to control this virus.<br />'' <br />''He said, 92 per cent of total Covid cases in the country are of mild nature and only 7 per cent patients in the ICU.<br />'' <br />''The Minister also said, Centre has provided necessary support to the States with ventilators, PPE Kits, N95 Masks and Hydroxychloroquine. </span><br />
