Indian men's hockey team defeated Japan 2-1, to maintain an unassailable 2-Nil lead and clinch the four match hockey Test series. In the third match played at Bhubaneswar last night, drag-flicker V R Raghunath scored one from penalty while Akashdeep Singh displayed brilliant stick-work to score the second goal for India. After having a 2-Nil lead, Hirotaka Wakari pulled one back for Japan but Indian defence held them not to surge ahead. India had drawn their first match of the Test series and won the second, before winning the third encounter. With series in hand the fourth match to be played tomorrow is inconsequential.
