The Junior Men's Hockey World Cup began in Lucknow today. India are currently playing their opening Pool-D match against Canada. The teams were goal-less, when reports last came in. In the day's earlier matches, New Zealand beat Japan One-nil, while defending champions Germany defeated Spain, 2-1. Both matches were in Pool C.In Pool D, England overcame South Africa 4-2. Top 16 teams of the world are participating in the competition. Pakistan is not taking part. The matches are being played at the Major Dhyan Chand Astroturf Stadium.
