India sustains world food supply chain, continues with exports amid COVID-19 pandemic

<span style="color: #222222;">During the difficult time of COVID 19 pandemic, India has sustained the world food supply chain and has continued with exports. The agricultural export during March-June 2020 increased by 23.24 per cent compared to last year. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Agriculture sector grew by 2.9 percent during 2019-20 as against 2.74 percent in 2018-19. The commodities which witnessed positive growth in exports in April to June, 2020 when compared with the same period last year are tur, wheat, Bengal gram and groundnut oil.  <br />'' <br />'' Agri exports are expected to increase from 40 billion dollars to 60 billion by 2022.<br />'' <br />'' There has been a high yield in Agricultural production despite COVID. Production of foodgrains is expected to be 295.67 million tonnes, which is an increase of 3.67 percent.</span><br />
