India today said it was sure that Pakistan would take note of the Supreme Court verdict upholding the death sentence of Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Asserting that the issue of terrorism was of concern to the international community, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna said the entire gamut of bilateral ties will be
discussed during the Indo-Pak talks to be held tomorrow.
Mr Krishna, who is in Tehran for the Non-Aligned Movement's ministerial conference, made the remarks ahead of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's meeting with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari tomorrow on the sidelines of the NAM Summit. India has already made a clear distinction between the Mumbai terror attacks and Samjhauta train blasts, saying the two were very different and at some stage Islamabad needs to come clean on this.
Dr. Singh will be meeting the Iran President Mahmud Ahmedinejad and the Supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei later today. The bilateral, regional and international issues along with the challenges before NAM are likely to figure prominently in the talks.
Dr. Singh today met the Indian community in Tehran. During the meeting, the members of the community expressed some problems they are facing. The External Affairs Minister S M Krishna who was present during the meeting assured them that he will take up the issue when he comes next to Iran in November this year.
