India has supplied 60 modern passenger coaches to Bangladesh Railway, Railway Ministry said in New Delhi. An intercity train with these coaches was flagged off at Dhaka yesterday by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in presence of High Commissioner of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla.<br/><br/> A Railway Ministry statement said that the RITES Limited, a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways supplied 60 Broad Gauge passenger coaches to Bangladesh Railway. Earlier, RITES had supplied 26 Broad Gauge diesel electric locomotives to Bangladesh Railway.<br/><br/>RITES Chairman and Managing Director Rajeev Mehrotra said they are making all efforts to augment export of rolling stock manufactured at Indian Railways Production Units. He added that response from South Asian markets is very encouraging in this regard.
