India summons Pak High Commissioner over Lakhvi's detention issue

The External Affairs Ministry today summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit following cancellation of detention of Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi by the Islamabad High Court.

However, when asked about the meeting by the media, Mr Basit refused to comment. The High Court has suspended the Pakistan government notification of putting Lakhvi under house arrest after an anti-terrorism court granted him bail.

Lakhvi is accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. Earlier, when Lakhvi was granted bail, New Delhi had communicated to Pakistan its concerns over the matter and said the bail makes a mockery of Pakistan's commitment to fight terrorism.
