India successfully test fired 'Astra' the air-to-air missile from its Integrated Test Range (ITR) off the Orissa coast on Monday.<br/><br/>The 25 km range missile was tested at the Chandipur test range at about 9.45 a.m.<br/><br/>Mr S P Dash, Director of the ITR said the test was a success.<br/><br/>Weighing 154 kg, Astra missile is 3.8 meter long having 1.78 meter diameter.<br/><br/>The missile can carry a warhead of 15 kg. A second missile of ‘Astra’ is also scheduled to test fire at 12.45 Monday afternoon. <br/><br/>Senior officials of Defence Research Development Origanisation (DRDO) and other senior defence officials were present during the test fire.<br/><br/>
