India on Thursday successfully flight tested AGNI one ballistic from Wheeler Islands near Orissa by the Armed Forces. A DRDO press release says, the missile was launched from Road Mobile Launcher System and reached the target point in the Bay of Bengal. The missile was tracked by Radar, Telemetry stations located along the coastline.
Two Naval Ships located near the target point tracked the missile in the terminal phase of the Flight. The missile, indigenously developed by DRDO is already in the arsenal of Indian Armed Forces. The Launch was witnessed by Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister, Dr. V.K. Saraswat who congratulated all the Scientists,employees of DRDO and the Armed forces for the successful launch.
