The Prime Minister today said that India successfully highlighted the repatriation of black money at the forefront of the world community during his three-nation tour. Sharing a blog on his recently concluded visit to Myanmar, Australia and Fiji, Mr Narendra Modi said, the menace of black money has the potential to destabilize world peace and harmony. He said, it is the obligation of the world to collectively fight the evil and there was no better occasion than G-20 summit to raise the issue.
Talking about ASEAN summit which took place at Myanmar, the Prime Minister said, the summit was an opportunity to engage with the leadership of ASEAN nations as the regional grouping discussed how to deepen engagement both as a group of nations and with each nation individually. Sharing his thoughts over his Fiji visit, Mr Narendra Modi said that India has taken concrete steps towards stronger bilateral relations with Fiji and other Pacific Island nations. Mr Modi said wherever he visited, he received immense warmth and response from people.
Mr Modi said, on a personal note, the affection from the Indian community was touching. He said, be it Myanmar, Australia and Fiji, he will not be able to describe the warmth in words. The Prime Minister said there was immense glee on the faces of India's diaspora where he announced the visa-on-arrival facilities and the Overseas Citizenship of India and Persons of Indian Origin merger in Australia and Fiji. He said, his government is committed to make the diaspora an integral part of India's development journey.
