India strongly condemns terrorist attack in China

India has strongly condemned the terrorist attack which took place at Urumqi in China today. In a statement issued in New Delhi this evening, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said, New Delhi is opposed to terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The spokesman also conveyed condolences to the families of the victims.
At least 31 people were killed and 90 others injured this morning in a series of explosions in an open-air market in Urumqi. It is the capital of China's restive Xinjiang province which is home to mostly Muslim Uighurs.
