India strongly condemns terrorist attack in Bangladesh

Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said that terror has no religion or region and it is a threat to the humanity.<br/><br/>Reacting to the terror incident in Bangladesh on Eid day at the sidelines of a function in New Delhi on Thursday, Mr Naidu said, the entire world must unite together against terrorism and the United Nations should come out strongly not only to condemn but also to see proper steps are taken to contain all such forces.<br/><br/>Earlier in Bangladesh, police have held three suspected assailants for Thursday's attack on the Shaolakia Eidgah, in which 2 police men were killed and 10 others injured . <br/><br/>A Hindu woman was killed as a stray bullet penetrated her hut during the gunfire the police and assailants traded during the attack. <br/><br/>One suspected assaulter had also been killed. Police sources said a pistol and a machete was found with the assaulters who are being interrogating. <br/><br/>No one has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, police are conducting a area-specific hunt for the assailants. Security personnel are going door-to-door in their search even as security measures are further tightened in the capital and across the country.
