India stresses on renewable energy, organic farming to fight climate change

India has said there is a need to encourage use of renewable energy and promoting organic farming to deal with the adverse impact of the climate change. Official sources said, New Delhi will convey the world community that developed countries should consider more cut in carbon emissions, during the climate change summit next month in Paris. <br/><br/>Sources added, through the conference, India is expected to call upon the developed countries to provide financial and technological assistance to developing countries to prepare a roadmap for dealing with climate change. India is looking forward to finalising negotiations on an ambitious and comprehensive agreement based on the principles of equity and common but differentiated responsibility. It asserted that the developing countries, while undertaking ambitious actions on their own, need to be assisted to mitigate climate change and to adapt and adjust to its impact. The country has promised to reduce carbon intensity emissions to nearly 25 per cent by 2020. <br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the inaugural session of the two-week climate change conference. <br/>More than 80 heads of states and governments from across the globe will attend the summit. Countries are trying to forge an agreement that will bring down greenhouse gas emissions which are the reason for global warming. The last round of formal negotiations before Paris ended in Bonn last week.
