India storms into semis of Men's Champions Trophy Hockey tournament

India today stormed into the semi-finals of the Men's Champions Trophy Hockey tournament, taking place at Melbourne in Australia. In today's third quarterfinal, India, who topped Pool-A in the league stage, defeated Belgium 1-0 to storm into the last four stage. Nithin Thimmaiah was the goal scorer of the match. In the semi-finals on Saturday, India will face the winner of the fourth and final quarterfinal match between Australia and England, which is slated to begin in a short while from now. In the first quarterfinal today, Pakistan beat Germany 2-1; while the Netherlands defeated New Zealand, 2-0 in the second quarterfinal. Both, Pakistan and the Netherlands will play each other in the first semifinal on Saturday.
