India storms into semifinals of World T-20; Beats Australia by 6 wickets

India stormed into the semifinals of World Twenty-20 as they defeated Australia by 6 wickets in a do or die match at Mohali last night. Young Virat Kohli was the main architect for India's victory yet again, as he played another defining knock of 82 runs in 51 balls under immense pressure.Chasing a competitive target of 161, India started cautiously but quick fall of three wickets created pressure on the side. After that Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh calmed the innings but required run rate climbed to 12 over mark. Yuvraj departed on the last ball of 14th over as scoreboard read 94 for 4, leaving 67 runs required of just 36 balls for victory. With good running between the wickets and some handy shots in the 18th over Dhoni and Kohli made the work easy, for a rather stiff chase. In the end India made 161 for 4 in 19.1 overs. For Australia, retiring all rounder Shane Watson was the most successful bowler as he took 2 wickets.Earlier, batting first Australia were off to a flier but was contained later by Ravindra Jadeja and Ashish Nehra's tactical bowling to restrict the side to 160 for 6 in stipulated 20 overs. India now plays West Indies in the semifinals at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium on Thursday. Meanwhile, the other semifinal is slated between New Zealand and England to be played on Wednesday at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla.
