India storm into ICC Under-19 World Cup Final, beating Sri Lanka

India has stormed into the final of ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016, beating Sri Lanka by 97 runs in the first semi finals played today at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Three-time champions India continued their invincible run in this edition of the tournament, as a clinical all around batting and bowling performance helped them outclass the Lankans.Asked to bat first, India Under 19 posted 267 for 9 in stipulated 50 overs. The colts were off to a shaky start as they lost two wickets for just 27 runs. However, Anmolpreet Singh and Sarfaraz Khan steadied the ship with a 96-run stand for the third wicket. Anmolpreet made valuable 72 while Sarfaraz made 59, his fourth fifty plus scores in the tournament.Coming down to chase a moderate target, the Sri Lankan Under 19 team crumbled as Indian bowlers took wickets at regular intervals. India cleaned up Lanka for just 170 in 42.4 overs, with Mayank Dagar taking three wickets, Avesh Khan two, Khaleel Ahmad, Rahul Batham and Washington Sundar took one each. Five time finalists India, now await either West Indies or hosts Bangladesh in the final to played on Sunday.
