Mega healthcare programme Ayushman Bharat will unfold in the next two months to ensure health insurance of up to five lakh rupees per year per family to 10 crore families. <br/><br/>Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar informed this during the inauguration of 3rd International Exhibition and Conference on Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry in Bengaluru today. <br/><br/>Saying that necessary infrastructure for the launch of the programme is in progress, the minister said that 3150 Janaushada medical stores in 555 districts and announcement of medical colleges for every three Parliamentary constituencies are central to this programme.<br/><br/>He also disclosed that he has written to Prime Minister to create a separate ministry for pharmaceuticals and medical devices sector so that the dream of making India number one country in medicine and medical devices manufacturing could be achieved. <br/><br/>The Union minister added that a new policy on Pharmaceuticals is on the anvil and issues pertaining to Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority will be addressed soon. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, the minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers Mansukh Mandaviya said that India stands first in the manufacturing of generic medicines in the world and holds 20 percent global market. <br/><br/>He also added that innovation in this sector is being given priority. The three days event is attended by delegates from 26 countries from abroad and over 200 companies from India. 200 Exhibitors have showcased the products manufactured in the country and abroad.<br/>
