Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that Indo-Lanka Economic and Technological Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) will be signed by middle of this year. Making a statement in the Parliament on the proposed agreement between the two countries, Mr Wickremesinghe said a special Indian delegation is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka next week to discuss the provisions of the landmark deal. He said the final draft of the agreement will be prepared after those discussions and could be presented to Parliament.<br/><br/>Sri Lankan Prime Minister was critical of the street demonstrations against the pact. He said he will not let anyone instigate people against the ETCA. There is no meaning in harbouring unfounded fears about this agreement, he added. He assured the house that Sri Lankan service sector will not be affected by the pact.
