India today hit out at Pakistan for its remarks that Hafiz Saeed had no case against him and he is free to roam, saying the designated terrorist was the evil mastermind behind the Mumbai attacks.

Replying to a media query, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Sayed Akbaruddin said, New Delhi devolves on Pakistan to bring the Jammat-ud-Dawa Chief Hafiz Saeed to book and deliver justice.

He said Saeed is one of the accused in an Indian court for killings on streets of Mumbai. He said India have repeatedly asked Pakistan that Saeed should be apprehended and taken through normal judicial process.

The spokesperson said, the conspiracy of Mumbai attack was hatched in Pakistan and financing was undertaken there and people involved in the case were from Pakistan.
The statement came after Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit today said that Hafiz Saeed as a Pakistani national can roam free in his country.

Basit said Pakistani courts have already exonerated Saeed and there is no case pending against him.
