India-SL 1st ODI: Indian team fined for slow over-rate

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the India team have been fined for slow over-rate during the first ODI in Hambantota yesterday. The India side was ruled to be an over short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration. The match referee Chris Broad imposed a 20 per cent fine on Dhoni while each of his player received 10-per-cent-fines after a full disciplinary hearing. The offence is contrary to Article 2.5.1 of the code which relates to minor over-rate offences.
