India has signed double taxation avoidance agreement, DTAA, with Estonia and has decided to work with the European nation in the fields of information, communication and technology, education and e-Governance.
AIR Correspondent quoting official sources, reports that communications, Information and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal visited Estonia on Monday and met Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip. During the visit, Mr Sibal signed the DTAA with Estonia. It was also agreed that the two countries will work together in the fields of information, communication and technology, education and e-Governance.
India will establish a Chair on Cyber Security in Tallinn University and a Chair on Indian languages, literature and history in one of the universities in Estonia.
The Estonian government has also announced 20 scholarships for Indian students, who enroll for an accredited doctoral programme leading to a PhD degree in Estonian universities in Information and Communication Technology, Material Technology, Environment Technology, Biotechnology, Power Engineering and Health.
