The US says, India has shown itself as a responsible global stake holder and President Obama has announced his position on India's membership in the Security Council. This was disclosed by State Department spokesman, P J Crowley while talking to reporters in Washington. In response to a question Crowley said, Washington’s support for India is not exclusive of its support for other countries as well. He said, the US is supportive of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, but did not specifically say if it wants India to sign it. Crowley, however said, US has encouraged Pakistan to sign on to the Fissile Material Cut-off regime.
