India should not have any reservations over US military aid to Pak: Qureshi

Pakistan today said that the weapons and military aid from the US will be used to enhance Islamabad's capacity for counter-terrorism and not against India. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told reporters at the Lahore airport that India should not have any reservations that these weapons will be used against them. His remarks comes after Indian Defence MinisterA K Antony cautioned the US against providing military aid to Pakistan on the ground that such weapons could be diverted to target India. He clarified that the weapons will be used against terrorists and terrorist networks that are causing insecurity in Pakistan and the region.India's Defence Minister A.K. Antony had told reporters in New Delhi that India had conveyed to the US its concerns about the transfer of military equipment to Pakistan. He had said, even though the US was giving equipment to Pakistan to fight against the Taliban, New Delhi felt that there was every possibility of Pakistan diverting most of them to the Indian borders.
