India had to settle for a bronze medal in the Uber Cup Badminton at New Delhi, after it lost to Japan, 2-3 in the semi-finals on Friday. Ace shuttlers Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu came up with spectacular victories to give India a 2-0 lead. However, PC Thulasi, the pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa and the duo of Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu lost their matches and it was Japan that made it to the finals. Japan will meet China for the Gold medal.In the Thomas Cup, Japan on Friday stunned China, 3-0 to book a place in the finals, in which it will meet Malaysia.
