He added that Modi's reaching out to Nepal, – a country so much integrated with India socially and culturally, but not reflected in diplomacy – was the first major foreign policy success of Modi government.

Citing examples of India's meaningful engagements with the developed world, including Australia and Canada, and its reaching out to Bhutan, Sri Lanka, UAE and even the tiny island nations of the Pacific Ocean, Mr Goyal said that India would benefit as much from these engagements as the other countries would benefit by engaging India.
