India set 315 runs victory target for Sri Lanka in 1st ODI

In the first One-Dayer against India at Hambantota, chasing a victory target of 315 runs, Sri Lanka were 190 for five in 38 overs, a short while ago. Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, India posted a daunting 314 for 6 in the stipulated 50 overs. Virat Kohli recorded his 12th ODI hundred by making a fine 106. Opener Virender Sehwag, however, missed his ton by a whisker when he was run out for 96. The second wicket partnership between the two yielded 173 runs. The other batsmen out were: Gautam Gambhir for 3, Rohit Sharma – 5, Suresh Raina – 50, and Skipper M.S. Dhoni for 35.
