President Pranab Mukherjee has invited Israel to participate in the transformation of India. In his acceptance speech after conferment of an honorary doctorate at the Hebrew University, Mr Mukherjee said that India sought Israel's participation in Digital India programme. He said that Israel has proven itself in the field of research and technical innovation. <br/><br/>He said that India is keen to realise the full potential of a partnership between scientists and researchers of the two countries. The Indian President also mentioned that Israel is among the few countries to which India has extended e-visa facility. Mr Mukherjee also referred to the flagship programs and steps to increase foreign direct investment. Before concluding his state visit to Israel, Mr Mukherjee will meet Israel Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and hold talks with him.
