New Delhi has sought access to Chinese market for India's Basmati rice, vegetables, fruits and meat products. Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Subodh Kant Sahay, who inaugurated India-China business forum in Chengdu on Friday, said India has been negotiating for a number of years for market access for eight vegetables and five fruits. The export of basmati rice awaits the expeditious completion of technical procedures.Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Chong Quan said, China will address India's concern over the mounting trade surplus in favour of Beijing. He said Indian companies should be more proactive in exploring markets in China.The imbalance has become a major issue with trade already crossing 30 billion dollars in the six months of this year with Chinese exports having a lion’s share of 18.4 billion against India's 11.9 billion.
