India scored 323 for the loss of 4 wickets against England when the stumps were drawn on the first day of the first test at Ahmedabad today. Virender Sehwag and Cheteshwar Pujara gave India control. Gautam Gambhir and Sehwag brought up a century stand on the first ball of the 20th over. Sehwag departed after hitting a six and 15 fours in a run-a-ball 117. Cheteshwar Pujara hit 98 to increase England's misery and remained not out. At the other end Yuvraj Singh with 24 was at the crease. Gambhir scored 45 , Sachin Tendulkar 13 and Virat Kohli 19. For England, Graeme Swann took all the four Indian wickets that fell today. India are playing two spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha.Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat.
