India, Saudi Arab to set up joint investment fund

India and Saudi Arab have decided to set up a joint investment fund. <br/><br/>Sources in External affairs ministry said, that the commerce and industry minister, Mr. Anand Sharma held discussions with his Saudi counterpart earlier. The setting up of this fund will accelerate the process of bi-lateral investment.<br/><br/>The discussions to conclude the setting up of fund were taken up during the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's visit to the kingdom. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the issue of nuclear disarmament figured prominently during the discussions.<br/><br/>India maintains it is pushing for universal nuclear disarmament and will always support any proposal to rid all countries of nuclear weapons. <br/><br/>But it was made clear that the policy has to be non discriminatory where all countries are treated equally.<br/><br/>Dr Singh during his stay in Riyadh held extensive discussions with the King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and several agreements in strategic areas were signed. <br/><br/>A historic declaration to begin a new era of strategic partnership was also signed after the delegation level talks between the two countries.<br/>
