India- S Korea trade target of $30 bn to be achieved by 2014: Anand Sharma

Government on Thursday said that it is expecting Foreign Direct Investment worth 250 Billion US Dollars in next five years. Talking to the reporters in New Delhi today, Commerce Minister Anand Sharma said that in the last three years, India has received FDI in excess of 100 Billion US dollars.After holding discussions with his South Korean counterpart Kim Jong Hoon, he told the reporters that both countries will have comprehensive strategic partnership and will achieve the trade target of 30 Billion US Dollars by 2014. He added that bilateral trade will be expanded in sectors of Information Technology, Automobile, Banking and Electronics. Mr. Sharma also noted that steel giant POSCO will invest 12 Billion US Dollars and will create 50 thousand jobs. He said, the government will facilitate visa issues and set up fast track approvals for the South Korean companies to strengthen the bilateral trade relationship.
