India and Russia will sign several pacts ranging from defence to civil nuclear sectors after the talks between Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and his Russian Counterpart Vladimir Putin in New Delhi Friday evening. <br/> <br/>The much-delayed agreement for aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov's cost is also likely to be inked after the high-level talks. <br/> <br/>Further cooperation in the High tech areas like hydro carbons, space and production of telecom equipment is also expected to be discussed. <br/> <br/>Besides bilateral, issues of regional and international importance such as Afghanistan and Pakistan are also expected to be discussed prominently during the meeting between Mr Putin and Dr Singh. <br/> <br/>External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash said that the visit of Prime Minister of Russia, who arrived in New Delhi last night will further consolidate the Strategic partnership between the two countries. He said, coming three months after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Russia in December 2009, Putin's India trip will further enhance the bilateral technological and energy cooperation. <br/> <br/>Earlier, Mr Putin's Foreign Policy Aide Yuri Ushakov said that 14 to 15 agreements and contracts worth over 10 billion US Dollars are likely to be signed during Mr Putin's visit. <br/> <br/>India is also likely to press for an access to Russian nuclear reprocessing technology, to take forward the civil nuclear ties. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that India's defence cooperation with Russia has gone beyond the buyer seller relationship with the two sides involved in joint production, development and research in defence equipment. <br/> <br/>The trade between the two countries was to the tune of 7.5 billion dollars last year, which was eight per cent more than the previous year. <br/> <br/>Other issues such as smooth visa regime for Indian businessmen and cooperation in the fields of space, culture, fertilisers and hydrocarbons will also figure during the discussions between the two sides.<br/><br/>
