India and Russia have agreed to further strengthen their privileged strategic partnership in various sectors by breaking common new grounds. In his opening remarks, following the signing of agreements, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said that both the countries would work closely with each other in BRIC and G20 framework to tackle the regional and global issues.Dr. Manmohan Singh said that both the countries have agreed to intensify cooperation in Afghanistan to tackle terrorism. In reply to a question, the Prime Minister said that India has been a victim of terrorism for long. He said that it will be a Natural Synergy to work with Russia to curb the menace of terrorism.President Medvedev said that both the countries would work together in the International arena and enhance people to people contact between the two countries. In a reply on the issue of terrorism Mr. Medvedev said that no civilised state can hide terrorists as law abiding citizens.
