India and Russia have signed 19 pacts, including three in civil nuclear field and one for purchase of 29 MiG-29 fighters besides inking the revised agreement on Gorshkov aircraft carrier a deal that was stuck for three years over price.<br/>Under the agreements in civil nuclear field, Russia will build 12 atomic plants — six in Kudankulam and six in Haripur in West Bengal.<br/>The agreements were signed during the visit of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in New Delhi yesterday. Mr. Putin held comprehensive talks with Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh with an aim of exploring opportunities for further boosting the relations. <br/>Three pacts in civil nuclear field include cooperation in the use of atomic energy for peaceful uses, and a road map for serial construction of Russian designed nuclear power plants in India . The other agreements include joint enterprise for production of satellite navigation Equipment and Services for civilian users and cooperation in fertlisers sector including import of DAP.<br/>Later at a press meet, Mr. Putin while talking about the special nature of Russia's relations with India said that his country has no military cooperation with Pakistan because it understands Indian concerns.<br/>Describing the outcome of Mr. Putin’s visit as very substantive and rich, Dr. Manmohan Singh said the two sides have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in hydrocarbons through collaboration between the oil and Gas companies of the two countries.<br/>AIR correspondent says that two leaders also discussed Afghanistan and issues related to terrorism as well as other regional and international issues.<br/><br/>
