India and Russia today signed protocols for acquisition of 250 – 300 Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft and 45 Medium Transport Aircraft. The protocols were signed in New Delhi between the Defence Minister, Mr. A.K. Antony and the visiting Russian Defence Minister Mr. AE Serdyukov. Addressing a joint press conference after signing of the protocols, Mrs. Antony said that both the sides discussed issues of mutual concern threadbare. The Russian Defence Minister said that both the countries have huge volumes of equipment and systems to be developed within a time frame.
