India, Russia revive military exercise focusing on taming terror

India and Russia today revived a joint military exercise series focusing on counter-terrorism operations. A Russian Army contingent arrived at Chaubattia in Uttarakhand for the 10-day training.Defence Ministry officials said in New Delhi that the 'Indra-2010' Exercise will formally kick-start from tomorrow and go on till October 12 when battalion-sized troops will test their skills in anti-insurgency operations at the military station at Chaubattia.The first of the 'Indra' exercise series was conducted in India inOctober 2005 and the second was held in Russia in 2007.
