India, Russia and China agree to fight terrorism with close cooperation

India, Russia and China have agreed to closely cooperate in the fight against terrorism emanating from Pakistan and Afghanistan. They maintained that it is essential for the stability of the region. A joint communiqu’ issued in Bangalore after the trilateral meeting strongly condemned terrorism in all forms and manifestations, saying there is no justification for any act of terrorism anywhere. The Foreign Ministers of the three countries stressed the need for strict observance of sanction regime against persons and entities listed at the UN Security Council under anti-terror law, an apparent reference to outfits like Pakistan-based Jamat-ud-Dawa which has been proscribed by the world body for its involvement in Mumbai attacks. The leaders of the three countries decided to give impetus to their trilateral relations in various areas including health, agriculture and disaster mitigation besides deciding to cooperate closely on climate change and reducing the impact of global recession. <br/>
