India retains same squad for next two ODIs

National selectors have decided not to tinker with the winning combination and have retained the same Indian squad for the next two ODIs against Australia. India thrashed Australia by 99 runs last night to draw level the seven-match series at 1-1.''We have retained the same team for the next two ODIs. I am very happy with the way the team played today,'' chairman of selectors Krishnamachari Srikkanth said. The selectors have also shown their faith on the fast bowlers who haven't been much impressive of late but bowled well in the second match on Wednesday.Srikkanth also lavished praise on captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his brilliant century which allowed India to reach a massive 354 for 7. ''It was extra-ordinary teamwork and a brilliant knock by the captain. You saw the old Mahendra Singh Dhoni in action today. What it has proved today is what a powerful batting line-up we have and it was on exhibition today,'' he added. The former Indian opener was also confident that the team will continue to play in the same manner and will emerge victorious in the series.''I am very happy that we have beaten one of the best teams in the world, which, probably on paper, is number one. The kind of victory we had is something fantastic because beating Australia by 99 runs is no joke. This will obviously give tremendous confidence to the team for the remaining five matches in the series.'' The selectors also announced the Board President's XI team, which will take on Sri Lanka in a three-day match in Mumbai on 11th , 12th and 13th November.Rohit Sharma who was dropped from the national team after a series of failures will lead the team and has been given an opportunity to once again prove his credentials.
