On the third day of 19th Commonwealth Games yesterday, putting up an inspired display, Indian athletes kept the host nation at second place in the overall standings.India's medal tally now stands at 11 gold, eight silver and five bronze. Australia stands at the top of the chart with 21 gold, 15 Silver and 10 bronze. England is third with a haul of 6 gold, 11silver and 9 bronze.India continued to rule the roost at the shooting range by grabbing six medals, including three gold, while more success came from the weightlifting arena and the wrestling mat.World No. 3 Gagan Narang struck the first gold of the day, pipping Beijing Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra in the 10m air rifle competition. Anisa Sayyed brought the second gold in the 25 metre women's pistol event followed by Omkar Singh who shot for the golden glory in the 50metre pistol event.
